Born in Winnetka, Ill in 1984, moved to Charleston, WV in 1990 then to Hilton Head in 1992 (age 8, second grade Hilton Head Primary). Attended Hilton Head public schools until 2001, (varsity lacrosse & tennis, student govt, *first pottery class). Then Christ School, Arden, NC, 2001-2003, a lot of art and music. The University of The South 2003-2007, while Sewanee did not offer or dignify a ceramic program, the sister boarding school St Andrew's Sewanee did and I was there often. Graduated Sewanee 2007, degree in Comparative Politics and Political Theory, worked for an online wine startup GrapeThinking/Tastevine in Raleigh Durham/Atlanta late 2007. Moved to Mobile, Alabama, and worked in wine retail. Worked for Regions Ban and commercial fitness equipment distributor, 2008-2011. Hired by International Shipping Co.,headquartered Mobile, AL, as a Boarding Agent in their Honolulu, HI, office, 2011-2013. Transferred back to Savannah with same company. Started Wooden Skiff Brewing Co 2013, sold 2015 to Alcohol Equity Group. Produced pottery as a hobby from 2000-2015, apprenticed with Jacob Preston in Bluffton, 2015, and after started Tayloe Pottery. Initial clients were James Beard recognized chefs such as Clayton Rollison (Lucky Rooster), Pen Ten Eyck (Sweetgrass Dawtaw), Brandon Carter (FARM) and Digby Stridiron (Parcel 32).
